2ND STAGE FINALIST
Nasz projekt znalazł się wśród sześciu finalistow tego niezwykle interesującego przedsięwzięcia. Organizatorem był największy islandzki bank , jeden z liderów europejskich – Glitnir Bank wraz z miastem Reykjavik pod patronatem islandzkiej izby architektów. Celem konkursu było zaprojektowanie nowego fragmentu Reykjaviku w miejscu jego historycznych początków – na styku morza i miasta, reprezenatacyjnej przestrzeni publicznej – komercyjnej i mieszkalnej z dominantą centrali Glitnir Banku. Efektem naszej pracy była koncepcja zespołu krzywoliniowych obiektów wpisujących się w istniejącą i projektowaną rzeźbę terenu stanowiących integralną całość i tworzących nowy symbol – waterfront dynamicznie rozwijającej się stolicy Islandii.
Our project was amongst six finalists of this extremely interesting undertaking.The biggest Icelandic bank-the Glitnir Bank launched this competition together with the city of Reykjavik and under the patronage of the Icelandic Chamber of Architects.The goal of the competition was to design a new part of Reykjavik right where its historic origins are-the joint of the sea and the city and to design a representative public, commercial and residential space with the Glitnir Bank’s seat as its predominant element.The concept consisting on the group of streamlined structures filling into already existing and planned sculpture of the area was the result of our work.The building and the surrounding area constitute an integral whole and create a new symbol-a waterfront of the capital.
